We love building relationships with our neighbors - and we appreciate that many of our neighbors look nothing like us and come from different backgrounds. Together we learn so much about each other and about God. Our InnerCHANGE LA Team (ICLA) seeks to catalyze Gospel movements in Central LA and beyond, particularly with our immigrant neighbors who are mostly from Central America. Our neighborhood is one of the densest in the nation, and around 75% of our neighbors are Latinx. Because this is such a dense neighborhood, we also have a focus toward collaboration with others seeking the good of the city. We enjoy engaging with youth and their parents, in both English and Spanish. 

Our team seeks to holistically develop disciples of Jesus as leaders who disciple others. Johnny does this primarily through engaging with youth: at our team’s Music Collective, playing soccer, with Young Life, with community collaborators, and friendship. Abigail does this primarily through participation in women’s networks and retreats, facilitating Bible Studies, and being a good neighbor.

In addition, we each have leadership roles within InnerCHANGE. 

As the ICLA Team Leader, Johnny is stewarding the vision of the team, holding the threads of different ministry connecting pieces; and serving and encouraging our team members in order that more neighbors will see themselves as leaders and become missionally activated.

As the IC Care Team Leader, Abigail leads a team who encourage and companion missionaries around the world so they can be healthy, effective, and sustainable in their contexts.
